such a difference a month makes....
Jun. 4th, 2009 12:18 pmlet's see. what's been going on?
friday: i got to see matty again for the first time in 12 years...pretty much since we broke up. he's...not the boy i knew anymore. well, i mean, inside, yes. he's still got the same sweet nature and whimsy-lust as when i loved him last, even if his heart has been put through some tough paces over the past decade. but i mean that he is not the boy i knew...because he was 17 then. and he's 30 now. it blows my mind a little. but i love having him back in my life again. he's one of those people who operates on the same sort of spirit i do...i don't know how better to put that. and it's simply a comfort to me that he exists.
saturday: and then i got to see my danny boy! i live like, a block away and haven't seen him yet and i love being so close. we had some coffee and talkings and walkings around lake of the isles.
sunday: attended the stitch n bitch at carin's and met some lovely new ladies. so much good food. finished the first page on my 'cat in window' and a bookmark for my sister for her birfday. carin made a tree sweater and it is the happiest thing ever. bethany got dragged into it and made herself an alligator sock puppet. i am anticipating puppet shows.
monday: dan's gotten me into his yoga class, and i'm so grateful that opportunity came up. i do need some physical movement in my life, hard. and the class kicked my ass. and it felt soooooo good.
tuesday: carin spent the morning and afternoon feeding me, the highlight being french toast. omg. i love french toast. it felt so good catching up with her, and i love her apartment. crafting and a "shallow grave" showing happened. later, tony and i caught "up" and some coffee.
REVIEWS OF THE DUCHESS: UP
i didn't expect it to make me cry. but it did. twice. and is it funny? it has a few good laughs, yes. that kid is hilarious. and the dog is my favorite. but it's the relationship the old man has with his wife that i liked the most. i thought 'wall-e' was pixar's most touching film. 'up' just pinned it to the ground.
end review.
wednesday: my sister came up to visit! this is...great. i love it. my relationship with my sister has been stressed in the past, and it'll never be awesome, but her coming up just to spend time with me was really cool. i think things are better for her than they've ever been, and i love seeing her happy. anyway. we did the neighborhood thing, shopping at electric fetus, food at wendy's, and a walk though the MIA. she's not one for going through museums, but i think she enjoyed it. and i've been meaning to get in there since i moved back. all that walking was good for both of us, and i crashed hard last night.
today: i dunno. i think i'm going to to out to the park and stitch or read. i plan to rock a plastic guitar with kris tonight, so watch out for your ear drums.
coming up: home for my sister's birfday, more yoga, laura coming to town, the 48-hour film fest, and my birfday. and hopefully....more time with people. i fkn can't get enough.
