radical 80's backlash!

i go halvsies on madonna.  i love her because i've grown up with her, and i like that she looks at each album as a totally different concept and sound.  this makes my job easy.  i take a quick listen.  if i like what she's doing this time around, i buy the album.  and, for the most part, her last few albums--ray of light, music, confessions on a dance floor--have really delighted me, as far as pop music goes.

hard candy just came out tuesday.  thank you, itunes, for letting me preview and understand that this is one of those occasions where i'm all like, well done, madonna, i get it.  but i'm gounna take a pass this time around if that's okay.  let me know when the next one's out.

so i bought wham! make it big instead.  at half the price of hard candy.

i'm working on replacing some of my old tapes from childhood.  so far, i've done right by the go-go's, duran duran, and some other madonna.  next up:  the bangles, huey lewis and the news, and michael jackson's thriller. 

re: thriller:  don't go there...you KNOW that was an awesome album.

it's her birfday, buy yourself a present!

my girl jodi is turning 27 today!!!!  she's a master purse-and-hat maker, a merry milliner of happy handbags!!!!

come on by the uptown VFW this sunday...the crafters there will be in prom formal, selling their wares.  jodi will be there among them, in her birfday finery.

ah, the marvel of crossover.

i will most likely be seeing "iron man" tonight.  very excited.  more so for RDjr than iron man himself.

i probably won't be seeing "the hulk," even though i'm a norton fan.  but here's a bit of trivia that made me smile:

tony stark (the character inside the iron man suit) makes a cameo in "the hulk."  and they got RDjr to do it.  neat.
