distractions, where were you a month ago???

we had a surprise visitor last night! one of gabe's friends from minneapolis was in town for the day for his job. i came home and there was mark on the couch...it was such an awesome surprise. he wasn't even staying the night, just flying back on the red-eye. and instead of sitting at the airport bar, he decided to come have dinner and play video games with us. of course, he got the hororary viewing of the chinchilla dust bath as well.

but, alas, this meant yet another night missed on nanowrimo. i am woefully behind now. but it is not without hope. if i'm disciplined, i can still make it up.

there's a girl i work with--another temp--whom i have a lot in common with. she's got herself a creative streak and i've opened her eyes to the world of nanowrimo. it's fun to have people along for the ride. although she feels she won't finish, she's enjoying the challenge.

i would too, if i could just catch up! i'm in this to WIN, baby!
