went to the MOA last night (as you might have ascertained by certain facebook pictures) to hunt down a longline bra for spanish tragedy. do you know how hard it is to find one these days? AND in black? AND in my size? i had to settle for one size down, but it still works if i wear it on big setting. let's hope i don't pass out on stage. :P
anyway. you may be surprised to hear this, but i still have a tube tv. it's at least 25 years old. now, i watch most of my tv online these days. but that's because my computer screen is gorgeous. but my video games rely on tv. and the color on this one sucks so hard, that if i'm rampaging through dark environments, i can't get my bearing. the sound is terrible. it's sucking all the joy out of my gaming experience, not to mention the few times i want to watch pretty movies in bed.
so. i've done some research. and this is the one i want.

it gets consistently high marks and is rated best in its screen size vs. price range. i've been into best buy to oggle it, and it will be mine. but first, i need to pay off $100 on my credit card, and i'd like to finalize my move.
i decided to go visit my future tv at best buy.
*gasp* and it was no longer on display. they only had two in boxes. a salesman saw my dismay and came to "rescue." hereafter is a reenactment of our conversation.
me: what's going on here? do you really have only two? you're getting more, right?
salesdude: nope. the new models are coming out soon. once these are gone, these are gone. you wanted this one specifically?
me: yes! i did all the research and everything! *over exaggerated groan*
salesdude: well, one of these could be yours!
me: you bastard!* i see what you're doing, mr. salesman!!! but i can't. i can't spend this money. i can't afford this right now. i was going to buy this in april.
salesdude: why april?
me: i'm moving in april, i don't want to cart it around.
salesdude: well why don't you try picking it up?
me: *falls for it--it's really light* you bastard!
salesdude: *laughing* YOU picked it up, not me!
me: no! no! i have to pay off my credit card. i'll be done in april.
salesdude: do you have a best buy card?
me: i see what you're doing, and no i don't, mr. smartypants.
salesdude: i'm just saying, if you open a card, no interest for 18 months.
me: YOU BASTARD! i'm walking away from you.
salesdude: you'll be back!
me: PROBABLY.
*for the record, yes. i kept saying this. and he kept laughing.
then i went out into the mall and called my mom and begged her to tell me not to buy it. knowing mom, she'd want me to save my money. BUT SHE WOULDN'T SAY IT. it was baffling. like a mom-test. like i'm a big girl and have to learn to make my own decisions or something???
"LEMME TALK TO DAD."
and dad didn't think it was a horrible thing either. i made him talk to me until i was in the car and on the highway, just to make sure i didn't do the impulse thing.
but you know what? it's the day after, and i'm still hemming. and i'm blocked by rehearsals this week, so that will keep me from going back. but i've decided, if i still think it's a good idea this saturday, i'm going to go see. and if there's still one there, then it's meant to be.
i mean, sarah and i need a tv, right? RIGHT????
