erzulia day one: beauty.
Feb. 8th, 2010 03:41 pmi wore my favorite outfit today. my makeup and hair was nice at the outset (it always devolves throught the day). i liked what i saw in the mirror today, and that's the first time in a while. perhaps it is the holiday goggles: all hail the magic and joy of erzulia.
but really, it was the best day to celebrate beauty day. because i fkn love snow. i hate driving in it, but i take a keen pleasure in watching it. i heart brushing off my car and have the wind pick it up and get fluffy white all down my navy coat. i like it when my boots sink in and tell a story of where i've been. i like the squishy squeaks underfoot and the poof snowballs make when they hit something...or when a person falls down in it. i like seing it come from the sky. i noticed the other day how i am surprised by it every single time and the first thing i always say is, "oh! it's snowing!" in fact, a lot of people make that comment. somewhere, deep inside, though we've grown up with it, midwesterners are still in love and awe with it as it falls.
geebz, i loves the snows. it makes my heart happy.
also a good day for beauty, deriana has posted more of her felt dolls on craftgirl. if you don't know her work, i'm absolutely taken with her. she did this whole series of henry VIII's wives and they're all so meticulous and detailed, i kind of got a felt boner for her.
