the 30 day meme: day 3

this changes now and then. but right now, and for the past couple of seasons, it's chuck. i am anxiously awaiting it's third-season return to NBC. because now he knows kung-fu. and yet he's still the cutest nerdspy ever. and adam baldwin is involved. and scott bakula. i mean, the premise is so unbelievable, and they pull it off. and it's a one-hour ACTION COMEDY. with high-end production. when does that happen? love it.
i do have to give a special shout to survivor though. i've watched every single season of it now, including the current season 19. so, in a way, it's kind of my favorite because i've stuck by it so long. it's my ultimate guilty pleasure.
you see, way back in 2000, when it was new, i shunned it. my mom tried to tell me of the glorious immunity challenges, the island rewards, the million dollar prize. but i said nay. reality tv was new and i saw it as beneath me and was having none of it.
then i went to korea and was subjected to the american forces network. a network that chose shows based on votes of the overseas army wives. so you can imagine. lots of soaps and wholesome shit like 7th heaven. hell. wednesdays were "touched by a ranger night" due to the double whammy of back-to-back walker: texas ranger and then back-to-back episodes of touched by an angel. *barf* so when they aired the first season of survivor, we ate that shit up.
and when they decided to air the second season (at the same time it was showing in america!!!!) there was much rejoicing. to a crazy degree.
when i came home, i kept at it, not only because i enjoyed it, but it was something my mom and i had in common and it was fun to talk to her about it. now my dad's on board too and it's a good time.
speaking of which, is anyone watching this season? russell is fkn WIZARD. i love that you can start off hating a person and--even though he does not stop being a total douche--end up completely in his camp. go, you witty bastard, go.
