visual blog: cake party

uh. i never want to see cake again. so naturally, i'll post pics. our pal, simon, threw a cake party this weekend, where everyone had to bring a cake. thank god some couples brought a joint cake (unlike us), because we ended up with 20 assorted cakes and three boxes of cupcakes. blech.

there was an extra stipulation: there had to be a level of offensiveness to it. (sadly, not many adhered to this rule.) so here is my al jolson cake:



it's a bavarian chocolate torte with handmade whipped cream/cream cheese frosting. thanks to mom for the recipie. i'll have you know that this is the first real cake i have ever baked. i'm not so scared any more.
