Eh, it's as valid an art form as anything else. I've actually seen a couple decent ones. After all, few things can be more insulting than Big River, and Broadway did that shit to us.
It actually might lend itself to the hip-hop format more than most works- spoiled rich girl is taken down a notch or two. Hopefully they'll treat it with integrity. I have low expectations, but I guess I can't knock it until I see it. If I can work up the courage to see it, that is.
