visual blog: weho halloween
Nov. 3rd, 2008 09:14 amthis has been one of the best halloweens ever...and i didn't even have a costume. it started off with zombie thriller dance at thrill the world (see: http://duchess-of-pie.livejournal.com/486149.html) and concluded with the dia de los muertos carnivale in hollywood forever cemetary (tune in tomorrow)!
but halloween in weho is the most amazing thing i've ever seen. since this city's like, what, 13 mil or more, i'd estimate a good third of them were crowded onto santa monica blvd, partying it up, with a good mix of funny, creative, political, freaky, scary, and nudist. there was some CRAZY effort in some of the costumes, and the best people just stood around getting their picture taken. it's truly a place to go and be seen. but it was so crowded half the time that there just wasn't getting any good pictures.
however. that's not to say that i didn't get any good ones. here's my absolute favorite:

now i'll let the rest speak for themselves.
( leave your inhibitions in the car, walk 12 blocks, and there you are. )
