working for it.
Apr. 10th, 2008 06:41 pmi am determined to keep up with my book club book. the executioner's song by norman mailer. and, so far i'm doing alright! it requires me to read 50 pages a day (with a few built-in catch up or rest days built in), and i'm actually doing it. i usually get lazy, get to waybehind town, and quit. but now, i just keep picturing aho (friend and gung-ho club nazi) being very disappointed. that's a scary, scary image. and she knows it, damn her.
really, it's just an easy book to read. goes down real smooth. plus, kara said it took her three months to read and i respect her for her reading prowess. so. if i, with my speak-speed reading, can finish it in a month, i will feel like i really accomplished something.
however, it means that this book is my life for the month. i read all lunch and then come home, check email and lj, eat, read some more, and MAYBE have some time for a phoenix wright act before bed.
but april will pass, the book will get read, and, at the beginning of may i will get my ass hired to SAG. then that mandolin will be a double prize.
yeah. i'm still hooked on the mando, man. it will be mine.
and i'm making this book a path to it.
