trying to plan for the innevitable...
Apr. 2nd, 2008 10:11 pmfat shatner might be dying. FS is my nano. it's only 2 1/2 years old. huh. 2 and 1/2 years. and it's the first generation--i bought it the month after they were introduced. in 2 years, there have been three nano models. that's nuts, apple.
anyway. i charged it up and it was out of juice after half an hour. this scares me. we'll see how it does tomorrow, but damn.
i thought about getting a video nano. but i don't think i'd really use the video function that much...i can't see myself paying for downloads.
and another thing...i don't like this new casing apple's got going. wtf with the crazy brushed aluminum? it feels weird against my skin. i know that sounds crazy...but i always think of nichols and her aversion to organza. she hates how it feels. and i always was like, okay, whatever, i don't get it, but alright. well, i get it now, because touching that aluminum stuff is like nails on blackboard to me. it's irrational and crazygonuts university and i can't explain it, but i don't like it.
so i went online to look over some previous generation refurbished models. score! i can get a 5th gen 30g video ipod for $50 less than a new nano, AND it comes in the lovely acrylic casing i've come to know and love.
this is a totally pointless entry. i'm just trying to head off the grieving process should fat shatner's lithium heart be giving out. i can live without fat shatner, but i can't go too long without an ipod of some kind. even if i have to get one of the creepy ones. i'll just shell out for a case and cover it up.
