movies out in 2004:
1. "napoleon dynamite." there. i said it. it comes in first over:
2. "harry potter and the prisoner of azkaban."
3. "the village." out on dvd january 11. by no means a great movie, but with enough little things and moments to catch my little heart.
4. "kill bill vol. 2." i really dump this one in with vol. 1, and am highly anticipating a box set.
5. "sean of the dead." zombie. movies. rock.
honorable mention: "naked." not out in 2004, but that's the first time i saw it. in fact, let me add in all the mike leigh films i saw: "life is sweet," "career girls," and "vera drake."
music discovered 2004:
1. white stripes--thank you siri.
2. the aprils--thank you zac.
3. ok go--thank you, eye-catching pink and orange jacket art.
4. carbon leaf--thank you stephie
5. david bowie--yes, i knew of him, who didn't? but i just started LISTENING.
honorable mention: eva cassidy. r.i.p.
books read 2004:
1. "stiff; the curious lives of human cadavers" by mary roach.
2. "the alchemist" by paulo coelho
3. "pirates! an adventure with scientists!" by gideon defoe.
4. "life of pi" by yann martel.
5. "coraline" by neil gaiman.
honorable mention: duh. the potter series. always good for a re-read....even the 5th time through. (it's funny to me that siri's the only one who knows for certain whether or not i'm not exaggerating on that.)

honorable mention #1: neal sorensen: even though i watched siri's little brother grow up, it wasn't until this year i actually knew him as a fabulous person.
honorable mention #2: flat eric: whom i met for about an hour on new year's eve, so technically, 2004. a nice, if not odd, addition to the people i know.
honorable mention #3: bardhorse: i've never met her in person, but she seems to kick a lot of ass and i enjoy the shit out of her entries.
honorable mention #4: mayuge: she would have been in the top 5, but she's a dog and therefore not technically a person. but i love her so.
**added** honorable mention #5: stephanie duluthside: i didn't list her innitially, because i've been aquainted of her from long back, though in a subtle way. but i will enter her under "reaquaintenced friend, pleasantly remet, with curls i am envious of."

1. the bavarian chocolate cake mom made for christmas.
2. chipotle veggie tacos with black beans and green sauce.

4. marinated elk steak: killed by david saffert sr, prepared by david saffert jr.
5. "crun-chee" and "salmon rolls" from sushi tango.
