music and sickness, lushness and snow.
Mar. 1st, 2007 09:38 amthe new arcade fire album is good. i approve. it comes out tuesday. if you loved "funeral," you will like "neon bible." they re-did their "no cars go," and i like this version much better. i can't wait to see the packaging on this one, their stuff is usually very nicely done. but there are rumors of a label switch, so who knows....
i didn't get breakfast today because i was loading songs onto my ipod. i guess we know where my priorities lie.
rico has a bit of a fever and it's making him pouty and lethargic. (you don't know until you've owned a rodent, but they can be moody little guys, and pouting is both distressing and terribly cute.) i've cooled down the apartment a little and been changing his water daily. but if it doesn't clear up in another day or two, i'm gounna have to bring him to a vet or get him some medicine. at least he's eating well and pooping right. that's the important thing.
and it looks like the viruses are finally catching up with me as well. only time will tell if i have caught a minor cold, a major cold, or the flu. we are in the early stages, and there isn't anything that's green, so i'm banking on a cold, in which case i'm trying an experimental cure of nothing but tea and asprin. apparently, that's all you need. rico and me, a pair of sickies. we're quite a team.
we had our meet and greet/first read for "quills" last night, and it's gounna be a good show. there's a lot of good stuff happening there, both casting-wise and design brilliance. katherine's eyes lit up when zach read the stage directions that call for sound cues of blades chopping and bones cracking. you could see her planning her sound design; this is the kind of stuff that girl lives for, i swear. and andy's going to be a fkn awesome marquis. it's not that i doubted him before, i just wasn't sure exactly how he'd fit in the role. and now i see that he's absolutely suited for it, both charming and hilarious. i'm happy to play his girl again!!!
and, i'm going to be girly about this, but the play is set in france, in the late 1700's. that means empire waists. only my costuming girls and my fellow fans of austen will understand why i am so excited about this. it's the only period costume fashion i have ever lusted for, and the only one that i have never worn. until now. *squee* i LOVE empire waists! thank you, carin!!!
hey! my boss just came by and said she may be closing the office early due to the weather...possibly all day tomorrow too! so, sorry to those who don't want any more snow, but bring it on!!!! i could use some more time off! zelda calls!!!
